Hey brug professionals... :) To me you're ALL professionals in my book...far beyond me that's for sure.
I have brugs in pots and in the ground. Two that are in pots are dropping leaves like gangbusters from the bottom up. The shredded white is kinda blooming and it's "really" dropping leaves. Even the buds have started dropping. It's been watered all summer and been fed weekly. At first it would drop leaves that were brown and after looking at some pics on DG of other brug plants they must do that. But lately it's dropping leaves that are a nice green color. And I don't see any bugs at all. Would snail/slugs do that?
Second question, how many hours of direct sun do they need to flower?
I'm really ready to toss in the towel on these.
Thanks!!

Probably dumb questions but....
Not a dumb question at all................checkout this other thread and see if it helps you at all.

Mine, especially the doubles do well with just 6 hours full sun, and then dappled the rest of the day. I think it depends on the plant it self, try moving it and see if it helps.
Sledder; don't know what to tell you, but I have been having the same problem with my leaves turning yellow and some green leaves dropping off.
Maybe others can help out and give us some good advice on what can be done to remedy the situation
Don't ever worry about dumb questions.......I have had many myself. I have had many yellow leaves the past month, but I know it is due to our 95-over 100 temps. Many are in full sun but I had no choice but to put my new seedling bed in almost full sun. Even my large ones that are as tall as the roofline are loosing many leaves. Just too hot for them but they will do so much better in September when it starts cooling down. This morning at 8:30 it was 86 degrees and that is what I call heat.
Creamsickle is the only one that I have of many that can take that kind of heat and sun all day. It does not effect the blooms or leaves at all during the day. I am anxious to see how some of the seedlings do as far as holding the shape of blooms in what I call heat and high humidity. If they do, then they will truly be heat resistant brugs.
I don't know how many others that have truly consistent hot temps day and night like mine. If anyone has new brugs that can take this kind of extreme heat day and night and put on continuous flushes, and have blooms that hold their shape, I would like to know and also try it in my area.
Heat in Western PA is not a problem. Our highs lately are in the mid to lower 80's. The dropping leaves are not yellow at all. They're a nice green color. It's sad when a bud drops off too.
