This is the second year for them in our garden. I planted them deep enough to get at least 2" of soil over their necks. The foilage has come up nice. No blooms last year and I see no stalks yet this year. What is their habit - do they throw up scapes like daylilies? I am really hoping for blooms but the PDB indicates they should be planted deep. Opinions please? Should I plant them deeper? One of the bulbs is gigantic, I think the circumference was 10" or more when I planted it.
Any help appreciated!! (That is a Canna Bengal Tiger that has spread between the bubs)

Sue,
Mine are just starting to send up stalks, they bloom late summer. Maybe your bulbs are not large enough to bloom, plus they don't like to be disturbed. My bulbs were large when I planted them & it was 2 years before they bloomed. The necks should not be above ground. Hope this helps.

Okay, that makes sense then. Maybe I'll get lucky and see blooms this season. Unfortunatly I am going to have to move the canna and hopefully I will not disturb the bulbs too much!
Mucho thanks
Sue,
Your very welcome. I'll keep my fingers crossed, hope they bloom for you. Mine have Multipled like crazy!!
