Daturas

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I'm not at all sure how this happened but I have Daturas taking over my GH

I didn't start any Datura seeds
The only thing I can think of is that my peacocks, who hang out in the GH in the summer
(they think its a safe and secure place to hatch and raise their babies, which it is ....but even I have my limits)
I'm thinking they ate the seeds...and since the poopied in the GH the seeds ended up there
There was no sign of them all winter, even though the GH is heated
They have not been watered, and it gets to 144 degrees in there when the suns out
I don't know if dats that big can be transplanted but they are waist high and I gotta start getting the GH set up for winter
(sad but true)
Has anyone else had them take over their GH?

Oh my gosh, that is funny Karyn. Have fun getting them all out. The funniest part is that datura seed is viable for years. You will probably have more of them come up next year. LOL!

I did start some double's...they died, but I wonder if a seed made it and floated down there

Remember that pic I sent around 2 weeks ago asking if anyone recognized the seedlings? They turned out to be datura also!! Unfortunately, they are right by the driveway so they will not last oo long there unless I can get my DH to park on the street. LOL
