Phytosanitary Certificate AKAPhyto

Sorry, I had to take a picture instead of scanning. My three in one printer went south last night.

This is an picture of a phyto that came with an order from Monika. Thought maybe you all might like to know what one looks like. In order to get to this point, you first have to get an import permit. They are free. The phyto is purchased for you by the seller and you have to pay for it. The inspector checks the seeds/plants/cuttings and says they are inspected and found to be in good health and gives the seller the proper papers to be sent along with your order. Your order is then stopped at an inspection station in the US, checked for proper paperwork, and then mailed on to you. It takes close to two weeks from shipping to receiving.

Thanks for posting this Brugie! I remember those from my greenhouse days(better put it in a safe place in case the brug police come looking for you, lol)

The last batch I got and shared with you all will be super too but we will get to see them blooming very soon...........very, very, soon. I have lots of Y's on mine now and buds on a couple of them. How are yours doing?

Hey, come on up. We would love to have you all visit. I have a lot of weeding that needs to be done and potatoes to dig. I'm picking cucumbers by the bucket full every couple of days. I wonder if they would make good brug food.

I love fresh dug potatoes. Mom used to make them with green peas and a cream sauce.
Our cukes finished up last month, too hot for them.

Back to the phyto for a sec. You just sign for the package when it arrives?
Then of course, rip the package to shreds in your excitement.

I think I downey mildew on my Cukes in pots....
if I chop the plant back with the new growth be oK?

Buds and Y'S here too.... about a month ago, got one now I can feel the little bloom in, now if I can just keep my hands off of it long enough. Shirely I can't wait, tooo exciting!

Tracey, step away from the brug! I'm counting on you two to have the first blooms.

Liz, that is so strange....the first seeds came and I had to sign for them. The second ones were left in the mailbox. I wish I had kept the first package to compare and see what the difference was. All that was on the outside of this package was Monika's return address, stamps, my address, and the "Released" stamp from the plant inspection station in NY. I thought it was strange. Maybe it was sent a different way this time.

Tracey, am I going to have to come up there and slap your hands to keep them away from that bud?

Hey guys, I was on the phone with Brugie this morning talking about a very, very special brug, and I was saying it had not Yed yet. I took a little walk to the other side of her......more like climbed over a bunch of seedlings in gallon pots and there was a good sized y already!! And guess what I found???? A bud!!! Poor Shirley got a screamful in her ear! LOL

Yahoo for you Kell! OK, I'm going outside to yell at my seedlings.

Since we are posting pictures of Y's, here is my Y on a seedling from Monika's seeds. If nothing happens, it won't be much longer.

They all look great! Mine, Im sure will have to wait until spring. I didnt get off to a great start with them.

Brugie, that is TOOOO exciting. How great Monika has shared her brug genes with so many!! I know I say this every year, but next year should be absolutely amazing!!

I could just cry now, none of my Monika seeds made it!

What happened to them Mary?

I used the Physan20 on these seeds, only ones I ever used it on, and I don't think they like it. Most never even germinated, a few popped open and looked like they were going to germinate but them just stopped.

I'll never use Physan 20 on seeds again.

That's sad. But now you know. Have you tried sowing your seeds Monika's way?

How long did you leave them in there? I used physan, but I only gave them a 5 minute bath.
