Tattered, but just a seedling?

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

This is one of my tattered Brugs. I believe it is from wind and rain, but do you think maybe it's bugs? I never see any bugs.

Another question - people often call mine "seedlings" - well what exactly is considered a "seedling"? These things are so big they have taken my back out when trying to save them from the weather. They are taller than the top of the steps, and I just don't consider them "seedlings" - They look like nice sized plants to me. They haven't "Y'd" yet, and they way they are growing, I think they will be quite tall before that ever happens.

My back is KILLING me. Anyone want to fly over and help me save my babies?

Looks like wind to me,pretty uneven for bugs.

Karrie, your pic is very dark, so it's difficult to say what it might be, for me anyway. Looks like it could be wind or bugs, maybe both. Shoot, I'm not sure when a seedling becomes a plant, but I'll bet someone knows and maybe they will tell both of us, ya think??!!

I would probably call it a seedling until it bloomed and got its own name.

To ME a seedling is 4 inches tall. These are over 3 feet tall, lol - and KILLING my back moving them around.

Sorry the pic is dark - my digital is old and on it's way out. I've had a real hard time getting decent pics with it lately - so much for entering the photo contest.
