Tropicman your yard would put many in much higher zones to shame!!! All I could do is shake my head and look in wonderment at what you have accomplished! It was so nice to see a picture of you and your wife...you two are a lovely looking couple.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Did I mention unfriggen unbelieveable???

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

Good lord Don how do you get such lush growth!?!
I am utterly amazed........truly beautiful. How in the world do you over winter all of those goreous tropicals??????

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Is that the best you can do? LOL Everything is gorgeous huge, well kempt and oh so tropical looking! Hard to believe it is in Kansas. I'd had to see what you could do with a huge greenhouse and a couple of acres. ;) Between you and root, Florida or Cali is gonna amend their state size to include you!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Enjoyed the pics. You and Patti are a very nice looking couple.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Amazing pictures, Don. I loved them all. I will have to spend some more time looking at them. You are an amazing gardener.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Thanks all!!!
The picture of me and my wife is a very old picture,I got better looking!!!LOL!
Yes it a job overwintering these babies, but if you love what your doing, its fun not work!
With all the rain everything is very lush, few days of cool weather put the green back in everything.
Well do this again before,I dig up everything and compare the growth, from now until fall, should be interesting when the August dry heat comes.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I find it amazing you can keep up with the watering...

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Glad I put down this well 20yrs ago,or water prices would put a whole in the bank account!LOL!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Good thinkin' with a garden that size! How big is your lot?

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Very small,60ftx 110,that includes the house garage and workshop.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

It doesn't look like it!

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Great pictures, Don!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Hard to find gardens that beautiful here in Hawaii! Great job!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Yep it doesn't look it,until you see it first hand, the plants make it look a lot larger.
Maybe we can get some sunshine and warmer temps, and things will really take off and grow.
This has been one of the rainest and coolest summers on record.

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Same here Don. My tropical garden just seems to sit there this summer. Today...it was only 65 degrees for the high..and rainy. Have had several days of that now. Felt like October!!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

My temps are like that too right now. We've had a week & 1/2 of high 90's to 100F and now we are back to the sixties. The nights feel like we are camping in the mountains.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Lilypon, are you on-line at home or should I use that other address you sent?

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I'm on line but send to both...I don't trust my computer fully yet! :)

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

ok - I'll sneak a note in here. Send me your phone no. New growth on passiflora and one ee. :) Nanas look awful. :(

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Laura you have mail ... it's such a relief to read the ee's are starting to bounce back and passiflora is doing well. Hopefully the Nanas will too. Maybe Don can give us some hints on how to help them after their trip. After looking at his exotic garden I think he would have some suggestions! ;)

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Give them a week or two weeks of morning sunlightto adjust ,them a little fertilzer, and more sun a little more each day. When you see new growth, you know your home free!!!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Thanks Don!! :D
