Hoya Program,

Valley Village, CA

Does any one know where I can get a set of slides for Aug/6 program.

Can you believe that I'm doing an introduction to Hoya? Well I am. It will be a good experience for me. They don't know about Hoya yet. So I will keep it simple and bring some Hoya to share. They will each get a cutting of 'Reva' ? Carnosa? Publicaylx? to start. I will tell them alll the ways that each of you start your plants, and what potting mix we use. and all the things I found out this past 1.5 years of reading. Where they come from, not how to spell the names LOL and Carol, Panama Creel will all be quoted. Even Ted, Chris, Michael, Hermine, Debbie, Mary etc. You are all going to be a part of this program.
I'm a last minute speaker, filling a gap for them. So I will sit down and outline what I'm going to talk about. I've done it before. Norma

Way to go, Norma. If anyone can lead a class you can. Besides you have over 100,000 members rooting for ya. I wish you the best and be sure to let us know how things turned out.

Alright this is just an idea which I don't know if you'll find it possible.

In Dec. my sons school had a Christmas program. They had a part of it where they showed what I thought was a slide show but later noticed they had a computer hooked up to some kind of projector. They had the program running on the computer and the image shown thru the projector. Do you have a computer savy person that could help you with something like that? I was thinking you could your pictures on disk and then hook up a computer to a projector and do it that way. Just an idea but don't know how feasable it may be for you.

If my memory serves me right, I also thought that slides can be made from 35 mm film negatives but usually that service took longer and you'd have to go to a camera shop to see if you could get it done sooner or at all these days. I wish you luck with all this. I'm sure you'll do great though.

Great thought, Gemila.

Norma, if that works for you, you are more than welcome to use any of my pictures from the Plant DataBase here.

Gemila, your suggestion was terrific, but I don't know how to do that. Carol, I wouldn't know how to do that, but I do appreciate your offer. I wonder if you would mind it I did make copies to give to the Huntington Gardens. I'll make a notebook of them and present it to the library, would that be okay with you? I just went out and got 150 sheets of Kodak paper. They are coming out very well even with my crummy printer. Norma

Sure, Norma. You are welcome to my photos. A short mention of my name as author would be nice. You can take pictures from my msn forum Pictures as well, if you like.

Surely one of the docents at the HG would know how to do the link....
