Thanks! My Pink Beauty brug's buds are only 1" long. I hope I can sniff one of its blooms in person before frost! In the meantime, I'll scratch-n-sniff my monitor and pretend. ;)

*sniff*

don't worry Kimberly, there is still plenty of time to be able to see lots of blooms. u will have ur chance to see and smell some in due time. from my personal experience, cooler months bloom are far better than the summer blooms... they last much, much longer too ;).

Shoot, it's only been in the 70's the last two days here...Unbelievably cool weather for July in Ohio! I hope this doesn't bode an early frost. I'll have to arrange a hoop house of some sort over that basement ventilation system's vent come fall, so I can extend the season. Maybe I'll stick 'em all in the raised beds with my tomatoes. :)

if not mistaken our 1st frost in Hesperia will be after Thanksgiving. although some brugs do come back from the root zone, i do try to pull them off the ground... cuz it takes so long for the die back to recoop from the winter weather. so what i do, the ones i like, i pot them and bring them indoors. this way i will still be able to enjoy the blooms during those dreary cold months.

one thing i noticed, some of the big brugs i placed in 20 gal. pots. left them in the front patio of the house. the patio only had roof and the entire surrounding is open. the winter temperature went down to 10ºF... those brugs did fine. i just keep them barely moist in those colder months. my favorites, i keep indoors though. they allowed me to experience bloom indoors.

hey nothing is written in stone as far as caring for the brugs. u are the best judge on how u will maintain ur brugs cuz u know and can see how they behave. temperature, atmospheric environment does affect their growth. do the best u can... that is what i do. good luck! i know those buds u've got will bloom soon for u. am off for tonight. way past my bedtime. goodnight Kimberly. hoped u had a wonderful birthday :).
