Goldkrone

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The name would mean translated Golden Crown. Even though, it is a Multihybrid, she is not prone to SB. I have two large shrubs of Goldkrone. Both are appr. 9 years old and still healthy. She has a compact growth and is a very heavy bloomer. The flowers hold up excellent in the heat and have a strong fragrance.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Beautiful ... is it a small flower Monika? Pretty color.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Not my favorite of yours!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The size of the flower is appr.26cm.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Holds up in the heat and strong frangrance......just what I like in a flower. Amazing how great it looks after 9 years and to still be so healthy. Great genes!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Compact growth and a heavy bloomer, that is what I like! Yellow multi-hybrid and not prone to SB, a definate need for that! Awesome! Wish we could breed that into all of the yellows.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I almost missed this one,it would be great to have one like this in the States, being SB resistant is a big plus, and it sure has the beauty!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

You would like the fragrance of it also!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

You know we are wild about the smells Monika, you should have seen Root running around here with pollen all over his nose....

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I heard you had a lot of fluffy pollen when he was there. Reminds me that I need to go collect some.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Brugie, it was so funny! His nose looked like a honeybee that had been in the flowers.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

So he was cross pollinating, with his nose instead of a brush...huh?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Oh yeah! He was sniffing brugs big time!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Definately, I wondered where all those no name pods came from....

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I wonder about the name...
everytime I think of it I thing of a blond, old hag of a witch....

I know thats not it ,the flower is gorgeous, but thats what I think of
Sorry Monika.....

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

LOL! His nose should fit into this flower also!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I can't help it,I like to smell them, and Tracey had a real feast going on!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

WE couldn't keep up with him, he kept disappearing into the flowers.
CC, I have to get used to the sound of the German names, I think Rubiglut sounds like a glutton!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

MOnika I think that this flower that holds up excellent in the heat and has a strong fragrance would do well in my area. It is so hot here, I never thought that my brugs would wilt with heat, but they do. And I have noticed my firends that have the burg trees, they have one set of flowing then again closer to the fall, so in July and august they dont produce as many blooms. I think due to the extreme heat here.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

After Monika told us the name of this one, I can hear Golden Crown with a accent (just not redneck), and for the other just think "Rubies-big-luster" Rubiglut.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

LOL Tracey.
pebble, Goldkrone bloomed very well in the hot summer of 2003. But she is prone to spider mites. They love her.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

I hate spidermites! The Di-Syston is supposed to help with mites, and so far I am not seeing any new ones. The only thing is it is not control the cucumber beetles, and I didn't have the problem with them when I was using Marathon.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Monika, that is a shame....all mine have succumed to spider mites here....I was dissapointed in that.
