ely, Baylove has them on e-bay. I ordered a couple, since I agree that everyone needs ruffles and they are hardy in my zone. Pam

Frill is good. I wonder what he meant by chunky little suckers. Oh well, doesn't matter, I love the look. Pam

A. trilangularis is a bogus, made-up name. Your ID is right. It's a mutation of A. cuculata that Dewey Fisk discovered. I first saw it several years ago in Krzystof Kosminski's collection. It's been sold under several names, including Alocasia "Crinkly."

It can take them a while to get the really nice triangular shape. I have a two-year-old that hasn't put up a single pup, but I have seen gardens full of them, so they must pup well once they are established.

I should probably take mine up to see if it has set baby rhizomes like other Alocasias.

Baylove has interesting plants sometimes, but I found them hard to deal with and won't buy from them anymore.

well, I thought I had the fisk mutation of the culutata, I thought, I could never find information on it to research. I have one similar, and it has a gold/yellow frill and I thought that was the fisk mutation. the only problem with it is that I have had it for aobut 3 years and it has not puped. maybe I should not let it go dormant and see what happens...

Mine has gotten some yellow around the edge from time to time. I figured it was normal stresses -- too much sun or heat, maybe it got too dry. It usually cleared up. If you have one that keeps a yellow edge, like a color mutation (aureo-marginata?), that would be interesting.

Mmmmmm, sounds cool. Would love to know where to get one...or some... I have lots to trade.

aloha, I thought we could not send plants to HI? but HI can send them to us?
