New Hedychium for me..

Took two years to mature enough to bloom. Hedychium greenii.
I got it from Brent And Beckys bulbs.Its about 5 feet tall and has many new buds comming on..no scent that I can tell yet.Big flowers though.

Yours is a great color...over here they are "Coast Guard Orange"!!! They will form keikis from the flower...easy to propagate. Wish they had fragrance but their foliage is stunning year round, even when not in bloom...don't mind at all.

I had a big clump fo that but think I've killed it here. They make little bulbils where the flowers were.

Thanks Kyle, but let me figure out what I'm doing wrong first. I've been reworking the beds and adding organic matter to loosen up the soil and hopefully bring the pH down. I know gingers grow down here, I've seen huge beds of them at some of the older homes.
