buds on brug

Mifflintown, PA(Zone 6a)

I got small buds, now how long will i need to wait for flowers?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It usually takes mine about a month from the time they are barely showing. It may depend on the temps. Generally when they are blooming you start seeing more buds for the next flush. However, Butterfly is one that almost always had a few blooms open on her as well as the big flushes.

thanks. My first bloom i check every day sometimes a couple of times.

Don't forget, a watched pot never boils. LOL! I couldn't help myself. Sorry. I did the same thing you are doing. Now I sometimes don't notice buds until they are about to open. On the new seedlings, I'm still watching closely though.

You are going to be so thrilled!

Shirley, do you think they seem to take longer when we're watching them?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

In real time no...but in my mind, it takes forever. I found a bloom today on a new seedling...white of course and I didn't even know it had buds on it. It was on the back row and I just plain missed it.

Poor little thing, knew you'd probably toss it if you saw it was white!

I found a white one today too, not pretty at all, go to be out of there the next time it blooms if it doesn't change...

You are probably looking at about another three weeks till bloom.

oriole, it depends on the weather. The buds may open in appr. two - three weeks. You have to be patient.

Easier said than done...LOL
