I can't speak from experience but when I lived in Texas I knew an older lady who had a nursery. She used to plant them from seed by the hundreds. She also did cuttings. She would cut a small piece of the limb with foilage (if you can call them limbs) and apply rooting hormone to it and keep it moist in a peat w/pearlite mixture. She said they would root just like that. I have a large one but I've never tried taking cuttings. I've come close but never have done it. I just get side-tracked. She used to do this with yucca too. THAT suprised me. I didn't know yucca would take. If yucca will take then I'm sure the pony tail will take too. Good luck and do let us know how it turns out.
