Poppysue's Brug Seeds

Kerrville, TX(Zone 8b)

Did anyone else get seeds from Poppysue of the cross between Gypsy Queen & Jean Pasco? I have two plants from those seeds but no blossoms yet. Does anyone have blossoms of this cross. And how long does it take usually from seeds to a blooming plant?

I'm growing this cross too. Seeds were started Apr 9, 2004. First seedling Apr 19, last one May 10 for a total of 10 seedlings. No Ys yet.

Thanks, lhughes. That's encouraging since my plants have not y'd either. One is about 18" high and the other about 12". Nice, healthy plants but no signs of blooms yet. Maybe from seeds they don't bloom until the following year. Does anyone know?

It depends how early you start them and I think how much you feed them. Some brugers are having great luck getting them to flower in 4 or 5 months, but I seem to need much longer than that!

At 18 and 12 inches, you have a while to go!

And yes, many do not bloom till the second year.

Mine have not Y'd yet and with this heat now the leaves are falling off, reccon it will be a while now. Upper 90's and 100's for a while now. Hope everyone has some blooms soon. Ted

Thanks, I love the serrated edge leaf.

I also think the weather has much to do with it. For me the intense heat slows them down so much. Growth has almost come to a stand-still for me on my 3-4 seedlings. I am losing more leaves than usual..
