My Cypress Gardens is putting on several blooms for the first time. I think it is an elegant flower.

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Your Cypress Gardens is lookin' good. Better than mine right now - it just finished its 2nd flush of flowers and I need to go pull off the faded blooms. I noticed that when the flowers age, about a day before they fade they turn a pale orange color. Do yours do that?

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Very pretty Flicker!

Mine don't change color at all.
Thanks for the kind words!!

Very pretty and I am glad you are enjoying the first blooms on this one.

CG does have nice tendrils. The more I see of it, the more I love it. Thanks to a trade from DonnaB!

This thread made me think of something. CG has always been Charles Grimaldi. Should we think of another way of identifying Cypress Gardens?

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Got this from an ABADS member who composed an abbreviation list . Forgive me, forgot who :'(

The "C" list ..............

CA = Cherie Amour
CB = Candy Bell
CBl = Cupid's Blush
CC = Cotton Candy
CDW = Candida Double white
CFP = Candida Flora Plena
CG = Charles Grimaldi
CG = Cypress Gardens
CH = Charleston
CHM = Charming
CHR = Charisma
CL = Carly
CLB = Culebra
ClM = Clare Mills
CLR = Clarissa
CM = Carmencita
CN = Citronella
CO = Coral Glow
CR = Carina
CS = Creamsickle
CU = Cuba

I have no official abbrev. for 'Crème Fraîche' yet.

I think the easiest way would be CyG for Cypress Gardens.

Fliicker,,,, CypG is just beautiful. Love the ruffles and tendrils. David sent me a cutting of it last winter. It is still quite short, about 24" don't know if there will be time for it to bloom or not. sure hope so after I see your blooms. Donna

LOL! I did not want to say anything,but I agree. Great CypG Flicker

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

from the list of brugs abbreviation that TiG started, i have added some where Cypress Garden's initials would be CYG. i tried to find the list but am not too lucky to get it. i thought i had bookmarked it before, apparently did not. hopefully someone will bring it back again.

No big problem CYG works .

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Very pretty, Flicker. Cypress Gardens was one of my best bloomers last year. It hasn't done much this year with our crazy weather.

Covington, LA(Zone 8b)

CYG took its time getting started compared to the IP and IS that are beside it. We have a long growing season and it starts early-our last frost is Mar 15. I didn't put my well rooted cuttings in the ground until Apr 1. CYG is about 5 ft tall now. It Yed at 3 i/2 ft. The trunk is much slimmer than the other 2.
AS I sit here, I am listening to the rumble of thunder. Again. My brugs certainly have enjoyed the monsoon.
