Where did this plant come from? I can't find any information. Who named it. When was it introduced and by whom. I have a small piece which is doing well, but if it is to be used in the Tropical house, I will need information, and proper credit must be given.
Ceropegia, part of the family, I think I must have a weird one.
C. cimiclodora, strange in the sense the it has barbs going backward all the way up the stem. It looks like a snake about as big around as my pinky finger. and a dark olive brown in color. It grows in joints, haven't seen the flower yet, I wonder what it will look like. I'm bringing it to my meeting tonight. Norma
Metallica, ?
We must have started a new thread at the same time, Norma...My answer on this hoya is posted.
I think that H. 'Metallica' is a MM hybrid from H. laos and vitellina.
Norma, never heard about a Ceropegia cimiclodora, do you have any pictures of it?
Edited for adding link to Carols thread on this one:

Then when a person makes a hybrid they have the right to name the plant? I would like to change the name to 'sparkle bight' or 'star bright' I don't think that would be legal? Norma
Yes, Norma...they have the right to name the plant. And, the name does not become valid or tenable until it is published. As in my case, I have permission and encouragement from MM to validate his hybrids. You must make sure, however, that what you have is not a species or that it has not been published by someone else.
One of the problems, I find, is that people are calling their plants whatever...and that "whatever" gets passed around and changed - like the game of gossip. No, not saying you are doing that, but a cultivar suddenly is called a species when written, etc.
