Great grandpa always use to say "no mosquitos, no crop". By those standards we should have bumper crops this year. The little devils are hungry and swarming. Have to enjoy the garden from behind the windows in the evening.
How about Manitoba and Saskatchewan bugs?
I'm sure Lotuslanders aren't persecuted the way we prairie dogs are.

Since we've been blessed with hot dry weather, more than usual, we've had a bad year of wasps, and expected to be worse in Aug. I've already been stung, good thing I am not allergic. It was a welt of 3" in diameter, and lasted a week.
I'd take a mozzy any day, they don't usually come near me.

We've had a lot of rain..and the mosquitoes drive one out of the garden at about 7 pm. I get bitten everyday..especially in the early mornings when I like to go out and take photos and see what has opened.
Cheers,
Carol
Hardly any here...at least in town. We were Canada's hot spot (Five Hills Health Region) for the West Nile virus last year so I imagine, given the lack of numbers, that they are hitting the little buggers with everything in their arsenal.
