Help!!!!!!!!!

Birmingham, AL(Zone 8a)

My huge much beloved Medinilla magnifica is wilting!!! Drainage holes I had drilled in cachepot plugged up and pot had old water in it! Fear root rot! What to do - repot in new soil? Leave alone and pray? Cuttings not reliable from this plant - and no seeds yet! Help me save my baby!!!!

I've never even heard of your plant! BUT, my thought is to just let it dry out now. If it is in need of repotting anyway, and can be transplanted with an intact rootball, maybe do so now using dry soil mix to absorb some of the excess.

Here's the pic from when it was healthy - its listed as a epiphyte - very strange plant. They grow in trees in Hawaii, grow as tropicals here. I'm terrified to repot it! Its huge and highly breakable.
