I had my three cats micro-chipped today. And, in addition to being registered with my local veterinarian, I will enter them into the national registry.
Normally, these cats don't set a toe outside of our house, but it gives me a little more peace-of-mind to know that should they ever become lost (for example, if we have to evacuate for a hurricane and they accidentally escape in another state), that there will be a much greater chance that they will be returned.
There isn't much liklihood that they would be lost, since we watch them like one would toddlers, but you never know.
I haven't observed any after-effects. No signs of discomfort or pain in any of the three. (That's "Minew," below, sleeping off the stress of going to the vet's office).
I was wondering, has anyone else had their pets chipped? And do you feel comfortable with registering them?
