I read that Blue ginger is hardy to zone 9. I am in zone 9 however we get down in the twenty's for short periods in the winter and also get frost. What do you all think about planting this out in the yard?

I am in Zone 8B and had blue ginger which I kept outside but in a cardboard box all winter. It came back and multiplied so think you would be safe mulching it in. It got down in the 20s a few times during the winter. I have one ginger that is supposed to be hardy to 40 degrees but have just mulched it each year and it comes back year after year.
Patricia... I grew this one in zone 9a/8b Florida.. the main thing is to keep it well mulched and DRY in the winter... it will come back.
