Vixen Redux

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

This is strange, I have 2 vixens and both are blooming differently this flush. This one is staying with quite a bit of white on the bloom, this is day 2 of this bloom.

Vixen plant #2, day #1, yellow but looks like this one may darken up like the last flush.

Must be the weird weather, even Rothkirch is off color this bloom.

Wow, would you look at those long tendrils. I like all of them

and inside. The flower is also much larger than the previous flowers.

Mary, that is strange, but they are all beautiful. I saw where Tracey said she thought the difference in her 2 L'Amours were the age of the cuttings. One was older and after thinking about it, that really could make sense. Maybe that is what is going on with Vixen. I love her blooms, send more pics!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

She is a beautiful blooming brug! Love her. Thinking she will keep changing as summer goes on. Keep us in pics please.

Wow, how did you get two Vixen's? Most of us can't even get one. She is such a beautiful brug. Was this one of Tracey's or Susie's crosses?

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

It is Susie's cross. Mary was the first one OK? Not sick after all? That is great for you, I had hoped it was really just winter yuck.

I think we are seeing perfect examples of enviromental differances and what the age of the plants has to with bloom sizes and colors.

Mary got 2 Vixens?? Not fair at all!

Hey Tracey, my brugs are all sick, please send me 1 of each of yours! LOL and I do mean 1 of each! LOL

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I have the same problem as Kell, all sick 'cause they don't look like that. Please send 2 of each, just in case I lose one.
Kidding, keep up the pollinating and growing. Y'all are doing a great job!

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

It was one of the ones that looked yucky when I took it out of the greenhouse after overwintering. I wasn't sure what the problem was, so I cut it off completely and isolated it, along with Mango Crush, Susanne, and several others. In the meantime Tracy was so nice that she sent me a replacement of Vixen and Susanne just in case. They came back okay, though, so I wound up with 2 of each. Mango Crush came back with a vengeance, about 10 foot tall at least.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Mary inLA, Love your Vixen blooms, especially the inside of the pinkier one. Great photos. Donna

I think you are right about environment. I don't put mine in full sun like you do because of the extreme heat here, so they probably would color up better with more sun. The one that was yellow last night is now the normal pink/salmon color.
