Question for Carol :)

Hi Carol...

I noticed on your website regarding the Eriostemma's, your descriptors of them say they dont like to be moved around much....you mean from a cool spot to a warm spot and going from indoors to outdoors and such right?....Milan kindly gave me a Hoya Sussuela (which is sprouting finally, I might add!) and i have been keeping it in as much warmth and some sun (indoors) as i can...i do move it from the morning window with some sun to my late afternoon sunny windowsill...that must be fine if it is sprouting some new growth right?..and i let it dry out a bit, more than i would the bella, multiflora etc....

It was nice to see a pic beside that plant on your website too!...what a variety of hoyas you have!

Right on, Sandy. Eriostemmas CAN be quite temperamental about being moved in and out of light and warm to cold. While they will put on alot of growth outdoors in the summer, they will pout and shed leaves when moved indoors...but those leaves will grow back. They enjoy as much light as possible...sun as possible without big changes in temperature....sounds confusing, but thinking about it for a while will make sense. If they could live in a hot attic with skylights that opened, they would be delirious!

Hi Carol,

Thanks for the answer..then i think i am on the right track, it is loving my warm windowsill....if i could only bottle the sun here through the winter, i would be doing good..lol...Its definately not going outdoors because of having to move it back indoors in the fall so i will keep it where it is and hope for some more leaves to sprout....thanks again..and yes i read this site way too often!....

Sandy
