Really, does milkweed demand lots of water?

NOT AT ALL!!! Well at least not in the ground. I watered very well the first year and got bad results the first and second year. Even the swamp milkweed did well even though I never manually watered this year.

I love milkweeds and would recommend them to everyone, but different kinds for different climates of course.

The trick to controlling the speading ones is to remove unwanted plants from the runners and don't let the seed heads open on the plant withought bagging them.
