Herb Bouquet

Pleasant Grove, UT(Zone 6a)

Last night a friend and I were in charge of decorations for a women's garden dinner. We tried to give everything a rustic Italian feel to it. Her idea for "flower" arrangements was to use fresh herbs, and I'm still blown away at how beautiful they looked. They were just a small part of the overall decor, but my favorite. I never would have thought to use fresh herbs for a bouquet. Here's a picture of one of the arrangements I did.

I used French camomile, French tarragon, Italian parsley (in bloom), mint, purple sage, and rosemary.

Bet they liked them :-) ...I've grown and potted up individual herbs for centerpieces before, for an afternoon tea and they were a hit w/everyone. Just takes a little planning ahead. The way you did them, you just need a source for alot of fresh herbs if you don't have them already growing in your garden. Very nice...

I bet they smelled heavenly too.

They did, and they lasted about 10 days. I added fresh water to the bottles every day and had to replace the chamomile, but everything else was still healthy when I finally decided to pull the plug on their life support and quit watering them!
