Yesterday my DH didn't move my brugs when he watered. I went out to check on them this morning and the leaves are terribly shredded - they look awful!
Does Sprinkler Water hurt Brugs?
Karrie, I don't know about your area, but using a sprinkler on them in the middle of a HOT day will scorch and sometimes kill plants. Bless her heart, my son's wife was trying to help out and, years ago, did that and killed everything deader than a door nail. The shredded leaves, I'm not sure about, maybe the wind???? Did your other plants look shredded too??
No, just those - and they are in full sun where he watered them. He watered them in the morning, and I think maybe the leaves were still wet when it got dry. (It got around 93 degrees that day) They look just hideous.
I won't give up on them - as there are many new leaves that are started and were small enough to survive. I think maybe I need to re-locate them to the other side of the house where there is just sidewalk and driveway so it doesn't get watered.
Too bad I can't eat them - they look like salad material right now, lol!
You are right, Kerrie, don't give up on them, they will probably make it. I'm a newbie and I only have about 20 or so, but I water them with watering buckets, early in the am, and sometimes more during the day, if it's really hot. I use a soaker hose on some, and my son is going to set up a drip system for me, if we ever get the time, I understand, if you get it set just right, that the drip system is very good. Hope your plants perk back up quickly!!!!

Thanks! Just wish I knew for sure if this is what is causing the holes and shredded look in the leaves. I'd sprayed them just a few days ago for just in case bugs, so there shouldn't be anything on there eating away.
