soil for plumeria?

Oak Grove, MN(Zone 4a)

I have a rooted plumeria cutting due in the mail this week. As I live in MI, I will be potting it. I want to do this right the first time. What kind of potting medium should I use? It is a dwarf pink plumeria.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

These are the instructions I got with mine.

You will need a 1-gallon plastic container, filled within 1 inch of the top of the container with a medium quality potting soil. Do not usa a saucer under the container as the plant does not like standing water or what they call wet feet. It will rot the plant.
Insert the stalk of the plant 2/3 of the length of the cutting into the soil. Completely soak the soil with water. Set the plants in a well shaded area for 4 weeks.
Do not water during this period. Unless the plant shows signs of wilting, thin add water in small amounts. The plant has the tendency to feed off itself if it stays too damp duiring the early stages of rooting.
Allowing the plant to begin rooting. If the soil stays too wet during this 4 week period the plant will rot instead of sprouting roots. At the end of the 4 week period water with a liquid fertilizer and put in full sun. From this point on water as needed. with a mild solution of liquid fertilizer. We found Miracle Grow to be the best.

Now mine were not rooted but the rest of the instructions apply.
Hope this answers your questions.

I would recommend following the instructions over at Plumeria 101. Here's the link: http://www.plumeria101.com/ Click on cuttings on the main page. It gives detailed instructions and pictures.

I agree...follow instructions at Plumeria101....following those instructions I have 100% success with all 7 of my plumeria.
Since yours is already a rooted cutting simply follow the istructions for proper soil. (Drainage is very important)
Plumeria like bright full sun, so keep it out of shade if you want it to grow and bloom.
