Possible fall coop! Any interest

I am thinking about hosting a coop with bloomingbulb I have been in touch with them and they would very much like to participate.
They have way to many things to offer all of them, so I am hoping you can give me some idea of what you would like to have included and I will go from there.
I want asiatics, and orienpets both, also some tulips, daffs, and anything else I missed the first time I looked!!!

Please post a list of the things that you would most like if you were going to order.
I am thinking that I need to keep this around 40 items for own sanity, and also because we need to order large quantities of one item to get the best prices.
The 40 most popular items will be picked as the things to offer, unless for some reason this is not possible with the company itself. Then it will be necessary to order at least 25 of each item to get a good price.
I will be in phone contact with them today and let them know what I am planning and find out if that is okay for them. I want to question their discounts and what happens if you buy more than 25 but less than 100, just to be sure I am understanding things properly. Also am hoping I can talk them into free shipping to me,which would cut the expenses and figuring down a little. Probably don't stand much chance of that!!!(worth a try)
You have one week from today to decide and post about what you might be interested in. If there is no interest, I will not bother with it.

Alice, I've done a couple co-ops with Bloomingbulb, with pretty good results. They might tell you differently, but I think their policy is "multiples" - so if you order more than 25, but less than 100, it has to be in multiples of five (but you should check with them to make sure I'm remembering their policy correctly.)

I would be interested in some daffs and tulips, and possibly some lilies...

Hi Alice, I would also be interested in spring bulbs and definitely the lilies. Also interested in Japanese Iris and Allium - wow they have a lot going on over there at Blooming Bulb!

Thats why I knew I had to do some limits if I was going to do it, just too much to pick from if did everything!!!

Alice, I can't suggest strongly enough that you put a limit on the different bulbs you're willing to order, either by selecting what YOU want, or let everyone post what they want, then cull out the most-requested items and limit the order to them.

Otherwise, you'll be sorting and packing for weeks...trust me! ;o)

And if there's enough interest in some of the other items, maybe someone else will step up to organize another co-op for those bulbs!

I kinda all ready figured that out, it does seem to me that the ones that go the best are the ones that there are some limits on.
That was part of the reason for starting the thread here, to see if there was any interest and if so, what was most requested.
I am thinking that 40 choices should give us a lot of variety and still keep me from going completely nuts. (and I am hoping to keep what little sanity I have left!!!!)

If you have any white (and fragrant) oriental lilies on the list, I'd participate. Don't have time right now to view their site... probably cheaper if I don't, LOL.

Alice - I would definitely be interested in allium, daffodils, tulips and lillies and might be persuaded to pickup a few hyacinth, crocus and or peonies if they are included in the 40. Will watch to see if there is enough interest before listing my preference of varities.

Thanks everyone for the input, I have copied everyone's request and put them into an excel file to keep track of what every ones favorites are. At the end of the week I will sort it and see what comes out as the most popular.

I can't emphasize enough Terry's urging to limit the variety of items you offer. I know you're thinking 40 is limited, but I'd encourage you to look at 20 as your max especially for your first coop. You'll be quite surprised at how just 20 will keep you occupied for a week or more sorting and packing.

I know what you mean about those amaryllis even if we ordered 100 they are still expensive!!!! I don't think we will be offering those!!! haha If I remember right the other ones were even pricier!!!

I agree on the amaryllis - someone needs to find a good source for those and do an amaryllis coop. I'd buy 5 or so if the price was good. (wheels churning here)
