Somethings wrong!

Rock Hill, SC(Zone 8a)

I have 2 of my brugs that are sick. Some leaves look like they have been burnt. I've picked off several but now it's back. I've been spraying and feeding all of them and these 2 are the only ones with a problem. Could it be to much sun, food, water or lack of? Any ideas!!!!! Thanks, George

Just a guess, but I think it is the heat. I've had a couple with the dead leaves, just today and it is really hot and sunny out there.

Brugie, could be since we have been in the 90s for the past 8 days and they are calling for 7 more days of the same, and no rain!

They look great otherwise,it may be the heat.

PG... don't worry about it, same thing is happening on this end. the temperature here the past few days was/is 100ºF, real feel is 105ºF [lucky if we have 10% humidity, dry winds blasting too!] , it is even affecting my bp, if u want to know the truth. i can only go outside during early morning and very late afternoon.

Thanks all, I feel better now and I'll try to shade them more. MaVieRose, it sure is hot there, at 6:30, it's 93 here and 60% humidity and no breeze. I just went out to water and now I'm soaked, and not from the hose pipe.

i heard u PG :)! i do not go out till about 8 p.m. Pacific Time, and the temp about that time would be still 80ºF. so i am watering at night till nearly 10 p.m. yeah it gets dark but there is a big mercury vapor lamp on the barn that shed light on the back garden area. yeah we are in the midst of summer now!!!

Hey George, if you have a Big Lots near you, check out their beach umbrellas for some quick shade. Ours are $6 and can be pounded into the dirt. Might look a tad tacky for a bit, but it does provide some relief. I know I'll use them again for seedlings, transplants and hardening off.

Thanks Vi, that's a good idea.
