What a wonderful world gardening brings....Hi to all of you!

Dave sent me a note to be sure and go to the welcome mat forum. Isn't he the greatest???
I was almost getting discouraged with the internet and then I found this wonderful site.
Dave said to let you know a little about my interests, etc.
I'm from SE Missouri and due to a my workplace closing two years ago, I took a transfer to Northwest Mississippi.
It was quite stressful for my husband & me to have to move, after being in the same place for over 30 years.
However, we have found great pleasure in working in our yard and garden. The climate and soil here grow beautiful flowers and we have a lovely yard. (We had lived in the sand in MO!!) We are both relatively new to gardening and have been like sponges....absorbing every bit of knowledge that we can find. We have just discovered that you don't have to buy everything at a nursery...our friends have given us several plants and seeds and that makes the plants even more special.
Hope to learn lots from this site and you can bet that we'll be right in the middle of lots of forums and swaps!!!

Welcome, mspatty! Like you, I am fairly new to gardening, now that I no longer lead the "corporate" life and can stay home. I have soaked up lots from DG, but only a fraction of what I expect over the next few years. It's a great place, and gald to have you here.

Hi mspatty - glad to meet ya. Gosh, I can't imagine the stress of moving since I've been rooted in the same 10 mile area of Austin for all of my life, but I would think it would be a pretty hard thing to do. Welcome to DG - there's not a better place on the internet to visit and soak up knowledge.
