This is NOT Marco Polo. A company in England has been selling an imposter iris of this name. The real Marco Polo is actually reddish.

so i checked the 1939 AIS Checklist and it does describe its color as S6M which is a Blend color usually refering to Brownish Red blended color Iris, However, since the Blue one has been marketed for many years and is accepted as this cultivar in circulation and sale. it is my opinion until a image of the brownish red blend one surfaces, which may not ever as it may not even be in existence anymore, that until then this blue one photgraphed by Terri1948 in Europe which is also in circulation in the US should stay.
