Quick question

Do you all put brug foliage and blooms in your compost pile? I have always avoided it since they are so poisonous, cause I use my compost all over my garden, including my veggie garden. I have lots of dead blooms right now, and I hate to throw it all away if I can use it.

I would be worried that SB is lurking and you would spread it. It can take so long for SB to show up once infected, it is not worth it.

Donna, because I have doggies, I don't put anything like that in my compost - if something tasty/smelly got in there, I'm afraid the dogs would go after it. In fact, I had one dog go after rotten potato peels and it made him VERY ill, used white karo and he was okay, but, I don't put the orleander leaves in it either, or any thing questionable, so there is no worry where I use it. It's odd, but my dogs dig and pull up some plants, but they have NEVER gone after the ones that are poisonous. Strange, to me, but true. Good luck, Donna!! SherryLike

Thanks for the input. I guess I'll just trash all the stuff as usual. It just hurts me so bad to have to throw it in the trash rather than the compost. :>( lol
