Tropicals are having a blast....
all this rain is good for something...
Oh your yard looks beautiful Lisa!!
thank you shelly, you just don't see all the mud and slush..
Gosh Lisa, that front bed is beautiful. Nancy looks great. I lost mine last winter. She was one of my best growers. Awesome pictures.
Ah,
Nice jungle ya got there .
Whaddayaneed for a trade , if ya wanna , on Nancy's Revenge ?
=)
Gorgeous JML...the lawn is purrrrrfect (gag) and edged too....(gaggag)...One thing is for sure...you know what you are doing!!! When I get our lawn mowed, weeds out etc. I will send pics of ours...
Lisa...
Wow! Your yard looks amazing.
What's that Colocasia (?) with the white hearted leaf in your first photo? Is it C. esculenta 'Nancyana'? Your looks fantastic.
I hadn't seen that until I looked at your photo.
Lisa your garden is just lovely!! I love tropicals also.....my atrium area is filling up fast with goodies...lol, and my greenhouse, and my...well you get the picture LOL! Debra~
Lisa!!! It's gorgeous!!!
I am so envious. We are so far behind on the yearly rain. I am spending a small fortune watering.
Thank you all for the nice words.
eje, yes, that is Nancy's Revenge. Eclipse sent me a baby of it 2 years ago. She is quite happy here..lol. I use her as my mother plant, we use the babies for the business. I don't know how many babies she has right now, I'll check, if I have enough to send to those who expressed intrest, I'll let yall know.
rylaff-- I sure wish we could send you some rain. Our neighbor keeps a running total on the rain fall we get here. So far we are at 45 inches for the half year. We are drowing over here, every day it pours...bucket fulls...it is really getting bad. My animals are really suffering too, they can't get away from all the mud.
Jesse and I are talking about moving again. We really love your area, niceville all the way to milton...we dream of packing up and heading that way.
Funny thing, we live on a dead end street, tucked away, so no one really sees our landscape..lol, my neighbors think I am nuts because I am in the yard working so hard. They don't understand, it just gives ME pleasure to look out and see my jungle....and the birds...ahhh, the birds it attracts! I get so many at my feeders.
WoooooHoooo,I gotta go have a talk with my Tropicals!!!
That is just how I pictured it,Perfect!!!
All your hard work shows,I could not imagine what it would take to move all your plants.
It's so pretty and lush looking!! And weed free!!
Oh my! It is perfect! Lisa, it must give you so much pleasure. And your Nancy is to die for.
More pictures? Please?
Lisa....Beautiful, just beautiful! Everything looks great and very well taken care of! Give me some good hints about the NR, she is so pretty! I have a baby and haven't decided where to put it yet. Where will it do the best?
Lisa it looks great. It was so pretty last year but even more so this year. You have really worked hard on it.
Wow ... your yard is beautiful. Love the looks of your first photo. Awesome!
WHAT? Don't you dare move away from 'home' girl! LOL.
But if you do, I can send regular 'Care' packages with red beans and Crab Boil and grits and a whole lotta Zataran's products. :))
Your yard, as usual, is simply lovely! Your hard work certainly shows.
Jean
Gotta agree! Gorgeous!!
If you do have extra 'Nancy's Revenge', I'd like to talk to you about purchasing one, too!
It looks great Lisa!
Looking good.
Nan, Are you anywhere near "The Highgrounds" ?
Lisa, that is one gorgeous yard! Enjoy the rain, we have had none...my plants are half the size they should be. We would love to have to move over this way!
Lisa,
Would you have a spare baby or two of Nancy's Revenge for me?
I have 39 new plants coming in on Thursday, maybe we could do a trade?
Thanks,
Molly
:^)))
Love the lush look you have Lisa....
I especially like the wide sweeping curves of the bed.
Well done!
I lived in Miami for 39 years and my yard looked very similar to yours with the beautiful green lush Tropicals. Now living in Northern Florida where I can't seem to grow these and if I did I'm sure the Cold, COLD weather would kill them! Makes me homesick looking at the pics! They are soooooo beautiful and maintaines to a T!!!!
thanks all!
Brinda,
I have my Nancy in part sun. When I first got her from Eclipse, he told me in his zone, she is in full sun. I figured that our hot evening sun would fry her lovely white center. She gets some evening sun, but not the intense heat between 1-3. She most likely gets more shade than sun here. I see you are in zone 7, so she might be happy in full sun.
Hey Suz,
I am still sorry for not being able to get together with you when you were passing through. I still think you had one of the prettiest gardens I've ever seen back in TN. I can't to see what you are going to do in zone 10!
Jean,
if we ever move, you will just have to come visit and bring care packages..lol.
weeds,
I sure wish I could send you rain. Yesterday was the first day since I don't know when we didn't have rain.
As far as the trim work around the beds...that is DH's duty. He is the professional, that is his line of work. I drive him nuts with my hodge-podge of plants. If you notice in the second picture between the beds and lawn, there is a lot of green looking grass stuff. It is chives. DH gives me a hard time because I planted them, he says they look like weeds..lol. They are really pretty in the bed, when they bloom, they are covered with purple.
some plants of interest tucked away. These are not visible until looking close up.
These are my most favorite of all flowers. They are in the ginger family. I just love these and I can't get enough! The purple is Globba Globulifera, I only have this one. It is very slow at reproducing. The one in the background is Globba Winitii.
Just outstanding Lisa!
I don't even know where to start - uh, is it OK if I don't invite you down to see my garden for say, 3 years?
What is that variegated thing in the upper right of the pic? A costus? Love it! Want it! Love the Globbas too - see them everywhere in the plain red, but didn't know what they were. Gotta get me some of those. Trying to start a tropical bed - it is pitiful. At least now I know what to shoot for!
Andanotherthing - is that tall plant in upper right of your first pic clerodendrum indicum?
I was just going to ask that same question!! I have some that I'd love to put in the ground...
THUD!! I'm ok,just had to get back up off the floor!
WOW!!!Everything is just beautiful!!!
