I have been disappointed so many times now.....everytime a bloom comes crawling out like a spider from a hole, the calyx turns brown with the bud is soon to follow.
Is there hope??
Those are some long tendrils.
This looks like a problem that you need Monika's advice on. I sure have non. Bummer that it happens. Doesn't look pretty.
well Kell, it is over 100ºF here now. that happened to some of the buds i have. it will be ok, when dark comes. the calyx may turn brown, but will never affect the bloom... this is basing on observation on brugs i grow during the hot dry weather. at least urs are growing in the shade. here there is no shade, everything is exposed to the sun.
Oh it has nothing to do with heat Ma Vie, it is cool here.
Here is the first thread on this seedling.

All the flowers in that crop died before emerging fully. Now I have a 6 ft side shoot coming straight up from where the main branch crawled along the dirt to find sunlight. It is loaded with healthy green buds, just like the main shoot was back in May! And the buds, one by one are doing the same thing. So frustrating! I can just tell this one would be a great pink brug with long long tendrils. Shoot!
it is indeed very frustrating. what i do not understand on my end, all the brugs growing in pots, away from direct sunlight, located in the covered patio, all the leaves are drying out. but the ones growing in direct sunlight are doing great! go figure?
There is no hope Kell. Once in a while, you will have plants in a cross which have deformed flowers. I would dispose of it.
Oh Kell!! Im so sorry!
Me too Kell. It looked so promising.
