I've been lurking around Dave's Garden for a couple of days now getting to know you all. What a great bunch of folks! I subscribed so I can be a part of the group.

Welcome from Iowa. Hope you continue to have a good time here. I have loved this place since the first day I arrived and that was back about three years ago, I think. Hope to see you around the forums. Have fun!!

Most of my family is from Dyersburg, I lived there until I was ten and even though I've been in KY for 16 years, I still consider TN my home state.

Brugie, I read a little about you on another thread. You said you were a retired teacher with a cat named Callie. Well, I'm also a teacher just a year or two away from retirement --- with a cat named Callie! Neat huh!
Sadie, I'm so glad to meet a former west Tennessean on DG. I've noticed many from middle and east TN, but not from my neck of the woods.
I am learning so much and finding so many things I want to try from DG, and my first day of in-service in July 28th. I've got to hurry!

Big wave from West KY! I'm probably a pretty close neighbor....just up the Purchase Parkway a bit. I'm about 20 miles from the TN line just north of Murray.

My mother and father's home was in Covington, TN. just down the road from Dyersburg. All my relatives on both my dad and mother's side are from around there. Actually most of them lived in Leigh's Chapel. Hubby, our kids and I have lived in Nashville for many years but go back to visit there often. Since my father died a few years back we don't go quite as often but we have a family reunion there every three years. It will be held again next Memorial Day.

Thanks Melody and Elena for the invitation. Of course, I had to search out the Roundup Forum to see exactly what I have been invited to. Well, I saw, and it looks wonderful. We spend a lot of time on Kentucky Lake, but never have ventured over to Lake Barkley.
I'm excited about meeting folks who know their way around west Tennessee. Just mentioning Dyersburg and Covington lets me know I'm among friends. I had a college roommate from Covington many long years ago.
