Prayers

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I know that this is not the correct forum for this, but since I feel you are all my friends, I'm requesting prayers for my brother's daughters. My niece just called me to let me know that her sister found my brother dead in bed last night. He lived alone and they called him every day to check on him, as he seldom left his house. When he didn't answer his phone all day, she went to check on him to make sure everything was ok. It was quite unexpected, as he hadn't been ill and was only 58 yrs. old.

I want to thank everyone here who offered prayers for my brother's family. All of you are such a great bunch of people.

He had a beautiful funeral with friends and family that I hadn't seen in years attending. The funeral home put together a video depicting his life from childhood, teenage years, marriage, Air Force service in Vietnam, birth of his children and many pictures of him and his love of fishing and boating. It brought back so many wonderful memories that I felt as if he were right there with us.

They did perform an autopsy which showed that he died with severe diabetes and probably suffered a diabetic coma. He never even knew that he had diabetes, but his daughters did say he hadn't been feeling well lately. Fifty eight is much too young to die, but he died with his well read Bible by his bedside, and we all know we will have a big family reunion someday.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

David, thank you so much for your kind words. I'm ok with it, because I know he is in a better place, and his loneliness and hard times will be no more. It hit his girls especially hard though, because they were really just getting reacquainted with their father after several years of separation. They can take comfort in the fact though that he had given his life to the Lord 7 years ago, after years of doubt and unbelief.
