Hi from N. Calif.

Castro Valley, CA(Zone 9a)

We moved to northern Ca. 2 years ago from Southern Ca, and We are enjoying our new home. Our (big) 1,300 sq ft home lol, makes me want to stay outdoors even more. The only difficult transition was that we had 3000 sq ft indoor space, lot's of light, a lot of room for indoor plants, the ones I could'nt grow outside there, so I guess being here, not much room indoor, but lot's of shade outdoors. Lot's of microclimates. So I'm playing around with lot's of new plants, move them from one place to another, and maybe in a few years I'll have it all figured out. Isn't it what planting is all about? I'm from Belgium originally, Brussels. Love to cook, Eat good food, go to Arboretums, plant sales, small villages, traveling, museums, etc.

My dh lived in Queen's Village and born in Flatbush! He said "Herbie must be Italian" I was there many years ago, great place, reminded me of home. Best Italian food ever, and oh the pizza, nothing like it here, sigh, but We keep trying. Most off our friends are from the East Coast. Great humor, true friendships.
