First Pink Beauty

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

This is just the most awsome bloom I've had this year. I am so impressed with this beauty. I gonna try and get some good crosses from it if I can get them to take.
I may use some of the Rothkirth that David sent me some time ago. Do yall think it would be good or not..?

Wow, WW. That's a beauty.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Sure is pretty. That cross has been done before, but not everyone was able to get seeds. I'm sure you would have no trouble finding someone to grow any that you didn't have room for.

Go for it!! Sounds just great. I love your pic!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

She sure is a beauty! Good luck in your pollination.

Auburn, WA(Zone 8b)

WW, go for it! You should do fine. I pollinated both a Rosamond and a Pink Beauty bloom with Rothkirch last fall & got two good sized seed pods with over 100 seeds each. I planted the Rosamond x Rothkirch seeds about 2 months ago and have 99 seedlings (yes, 99) at last count. Yikes! I haven't planted the Pink Beauty x Rothkirch seeds yet. I'm almost afraid to.

The flowers are beautiful. I wish you luck with the pollination.

She's a beauty! Congrats!

Sewcrazy, I hope you have lots of space. You should have some real beauties from that cross. Good Luck.

Brugie, We have 5 acres but the two greenhouses are not that big (8x10 and 12x24). Assuming I don't kill my babies, I'm hoping some of you guys will want some when they are big enough to mail. I've also got quite a few of last years' seedlings (other peoples' seeds) that haven't bloomed yet. Some of those crosses are wonderful and I have high hopes for some nice surprises later this summer.

Yall are so inspiring thanks so much. I did the pollination about an hour ago. So should I do it again tomorrow or is one time enough. This is my first real try at this so I dont quite know what to do. I did go on BGI and see how to do it I just don't know if once is enough.

Beautiful pic.

This has to be the slowest growing brug. I have this year. Well, except for Snowbank. I am hoping and crossing my fingers for a bloom by Fall.

It will take off one day, and then there is no stopping it... I agree about Snowbanks, I have a real nice green shoot on mine I am going to root out , it is bigger than the orignal plant.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Patricia, the first year I had Pink Beauty I didn't get a single bloom from it. Last year it didn't bloom well until cool weather and then it had a ton of buds. This year I started with a cutting from the old plant and I've had the first couple of blooms a long time ago and she is getting ready to flush now. She will really go to town once she decides it is time. You will love her.

My Rosamond is outgrowing my Pink Beauty three to one.
