We finally have had enough heat to get these Salvias into bloom. I won't loose my stock plant this fall!Took too long to find them this spring. I love the dark blue with a contrasting color next to it!
Black and Blue..........
Very nice, I will have to hunt those down next year. What is the yellow flower growing next to them. Very lovely combo.
I held one over this last winter. Then by the time I got it out of the basement, I didn't have room for it, so gave it away. I bought mine at the Lucas greenhouse, Deb.
Kyle, as long as I can build a flower bed, I think I'll have to have at least one of this type salvia in it. They really are pretty.
Brugie: Thanks, next year I will get one there. I have heard about them. It is so nice to see one growing in a yard and to hear the comments about whether they are worth growing.
I get to the Lucas Greenhouse about once a year and really hit my budget hard.LOL.. Of course there is always, the ones you wished you had of bought.
The yellow flowers are melampodiums..dwarf kind.
Melampodiums are great! Love the heat! Great combo Eclipse!
Thanks, Kyle. They looked bigger in the photo. I thought maybe they were a helianthus. Must be because their are so many of them. They are so easy to grow. I like them much better than marigolds, you can use them the same as marigolds. Marigolds are so overused. I don't have a marigold on the place.
I really do like the melampodiumsthey bloom all summer and you don't have to dead head them.
Kyle, can you tell me about guarantica (sp) and winter? It didn't like my 50F gh. I'm 8b here. What did I do wrong?
Liz..they like heat so keep it at least 65F or higher.......50F is too cold.
That looks so good together. I have some of this, I love it. Can't beat the color!! I think it was Lowe's here that just had it for like $2.00.
Thanks Kyle, I never saw that info anywhere I checked.
