Can somebody tell me when to plant sweet potato in the fall? I live in NE Tx not far from Louisiana. Zone 7b-8a

fall sweet potato planting date?
i have the chart from our extention office and it dosen't list fall planting only says april and may. it says you need 100-130 to harvest.
regular potatoes were to be put in in june with 100 day to harvest.
so i guess if you wanted to try i would plant them now. and hope for the best.
I would agree with farmgirl/ The sweet potato is a hot weather plant, grows very little in cool weather and is highly sensitive to frost. Here in Georgia, plants can be set in April may or June but not later. Of course if one is starting from the potatoes (roots) start 6 weeks earlier to grow the plants to transplant size.
