bulbils?

Oak Grove, MN(Zone 4a)

I'm new to bulbs. My mom has a really tall lily in her bed that someone gave her. This year it has little bulb looking things where the leaves meet the stem. Are these the bulbils I read about? Do I pick them, wait for them to fall, pot them, store them, what? Help please. Thanks!

Wait until they drop off and then you can plant them. Not very deep, possibly 3 to 4 inches deep.

Good Luck! Seeds will be black prior to dropping off.

sylvi - just be aware that it will take a few years for you to get a blooming plant from the bulbils. I think I've read 2-3 years. I got some from my SIL a few years ago and got blooms this year finally.

Thanks! I think I will put some in a protected spot and see what happens.
