Evert,
I am writing from Orlando. We have a clivia in a pot, but so far it has not bloomed. We have had it since 1999, and I try to keep it dry during the winter, but no luck! Any suggestions?
Plant it outside in full shade. Orlando is frost-free, right?
Nice photo!
I have a clivia which blooms w/o fail each early spring/late winter. It was one plant when I bought it and is 2 and has been for about 3 years. I basically ignore it - water when it feels very dry and keep in deep shade outside. I also feed it w/12-42-12 or some such once or twice a year or when I think of it. It really likes to be dry, shaded, potbound and ignored. It will gain your attention when it blooms. It is gorgeous - a bright yellow.
Ann
