Can the Mexican blue palm (Brahea armata) be grown in the lawn, or is that too much water? My husband takes care of watering the grass so I'm not postive of the schedule, but he waters deeply - a long time once(?) a week - rather than 15 minutes every day like a lot of people seem to do.
Mexican Blue Palm in the Lawn
Depends on your climate... if it's pretty hot in the summers, probably no problem... I have seen lots of Braheas armatas grown in lush lawns in Pasadena and Topanga, in southern California... they seem quite happy there. We have a nice one just a few blocks from my home with 15' of trunk in someone's lawn, flowering at least once a year.
And here's another in Santa Monica, where it doesn't even get that hot
I'm in the west San Fernando Valley, so it sounds like it shouldn't be any problem.
