The Hoya pubicalyx 'RB' and 'RHB' ID misery

First an overall pic of both 'Royal Hawaiian Purple' and 'Red Buttons' (middle two, left of them is 'Pink Silver' right of them H. carnosa).

Close up of left one which is presumed to be 'RHP' due to more elongated leaves with more speckling on them. Besides that the foliage on mine is lighter green than 'RB'. New foliage and stems are very dark and leaves change to green at about 1-1.5" length.

Close up of the right one which is presumed to be pubicalyx "Red Buttons" due to it's smaller not as elongated leaves with less speckles on them. Also mine shows overall darker green foliage. New growth is very dark but leaves remain dark until almost fully grown and then slowly changing to green.

So what is new, I have the same problems with Sansevieria, we were just discussing that this morning, too much interbreeding to get something new, and not tossing out the the ho-hum plants. Or around every curve the path, something slightly different shows up, and not different effough to keep. But we all want them.

My feeling is that with the numbers of the two in circulation, AND the influence of environmental factors - as well as fertilizers and nutrients given - one cannot go by leaf sizes/colors/shapes etc.

AND...as Norma pointed out, too many seeds have been grown "just for the heck of it" and passed around.....

Even the differences in the flower have been, I think blurred. I didn't think that 2 years ago, but I do now. Something a widely distributed and naturally as variable as H. pubicalyx and H. carnosa are bound to have blurred lines, don't'cha reckon?

Well I can say that both of the above are grown in the same general spot with the same soil and the same fertilizer so the difference between my two is not influenced by that.

And I grew 100 'Red Button' for the Huntington, didn't see any difference. They were grow side by side in four flats. 4" pots. But you are right, light, fertlizer, water, soil can and will influence the color leaves, and perhaps the color of flowers from year to year as Chris says in her journals. Carol, what are the ooooops again, please explain. Good night all,
