Will that grow in Florida? LOL Man I never knew there were so many excellent plants!!!!

The grass is always greener, isn't it! LOL! I see so many beautiful plants from your neck of the woods, and I just know they won't grow here.

You might be surprised. :> What do you want to try?

I'm always game for a new plant, but they have to understand the concept of hybernation here in the frozen north.

lol. Hmm, I'm no plant expert so anything i send you will be a "try and see".
I have this really neat white flower that came up in my garden. It is a creamy white and the blooms look like petunias. It smells so wonderful- like the best parfume. The leaves look kind of weedy though.
Blooms are about 3 inches wide. When/if it goes to seed I could send you a few?
I have no clue as to what it is though,LOL. Came with a wild flower mix.
It's worth a try cause it smells so wonderful.

It might be nicotiana. It has that sticky leaf feeling you get with petunias. The flowers are more trumpet-like.

Thats it!!!

Aha...it really looks like snow from a distance! Nice shot Weezingreens!

Thanks, Crimsontsavo, but it's an annual here and I started some this spring. In fact, I started several kinds. The tall whites smell so good, don't they! Another plant that resembles a petunia, but is really unusual is salpiglossis. I don't know if you've ever grown it, but it's a dramatic looking plant. http://plantsdatabase.com/go/894/index.html

Saya, yes, doesn't it look like a dusting of snow! Thus the name, I guess. Mine at home never bloom this profusely, but they are in a rock bed that doesn't get much care. I should try it in one of my better beds. It is rather messy looking in the spring, but once the dead stems start filling in, its a beauty even before it blooms.

i grew some for years... its near impossible to keep alive in hot humid souther georgia.
4 days of rain and its toast

There are many plants we can't grow in our cool, moist coastal climate, as well. It seems the plants that grow elsewhere are always appealing.

I always associate this plant with my mother. She had great success with it crawling wherever she wanted it.

*zone envy*
LOL- it's so pretty! I'd love to have a "snowy garden" in this heat.

Awesome pics Weezin! I came out here to trying to figure out where I'm gonna plant all my seed startings and this is one of them. Looks like a wonderful plant to have, low grower, bright display and foilage is attractive too! Thanks for posting all your pictures, these are always so helpful to me.

You are more than welcome, Kathy. I like to plant cerastium where it can drape over rocks. It's a wonderful rock garden plant.
