Jan is this what you are talking about?? I found a lot of them on the Island today but they were very small. This rain we are finally getting has made the Islands come alive with wildflowers

No that doesn't look quite like it. Go to the database and look there. There is a picture of exactly what it looks like. Look either under Desert Bird of Paradise or caesalpinia gilliesii.

Donna,
I have this yellow one also (planted it from seed almost 3 years ago and they bloomed this year). I also thought it was the red POB Caesalpinia... darn, now I have to start over and try to get the red ones to grow. If you find out the name of this one, let me know. Read somewhere that there are several varieties of the Caesalpinia.. Thanks.

it has been identified as Chamaecrista Fasciculata a Partridge Pea. I guess I might better dig a couple for myself next trip out. I got a red bird of paradise seedling a few months ago so I doubt it will bloom this year. I have the yellow BOP but don't think it is the same kind of plant as the one in the pic above

I just got the red BOP -caesalpinia pulcherrima. I can't wait till it starts to bloom.

Tomstone I got your email but the Thungb. G is already spoken for! I see you are looking for ginger - do you have Cinnamon ginger? I have some nice pots of that. Not much bloom but the foliage smells strongly of cinnamon, or some people say cardomom. Stays small too - under two feet and bushy.

I would love some. What are you looking for in trade. I just looked at your trade list and I don't have anything on there. I will send you a seedling of the yellow desert BOP as soon as they are up and strong enought to dig.
