Liz I have a rooted Philipimum I can send with Daisy and will have to see about cuttings on the others since I have already promised some of those to a few people in Ga. I also have some small pots of Dancing Girl Ginger seedlings just coming up. I think yellowish orange from the pic posted when I bought the bulbettes. I'll go look at them in the morning to see if I think they are big enough to make all the cuttings I need to fill. I have only had them a few months. If not now certainly in the fall as I will have to cut them back to put in the GH. Just make sure to remind me.

DonnaB - Sounds great! Figures you would have this kind of stuff. Where did you find the starts for the Dancing Girl? I love those! What else can I send you? Its hard when you already HAVE everything! Want a guinea pig? Got lots of those...they need frequent watering but hardly any pruning at all, and they grow in any zone...

LOLOL Liz. I got the Dancing Girl seeds on e-Bay dirt cheap and then traded him some brug cuttings for 2 lg. and different dutchmans pipevines, gloriosa lilieys for myself and more of the Dancing girl seeds so I would have some for the oct plant swap. I see you are looking for a Yellow Tabebuia. Well I have a bunch of pots of the PinkTabebuia heterophylla seedlings. The only seeds I have ever planted that I got 100% germination from. I have been trading for things for myself and the plant swap so I don't have to root so much. Is your Pink Disco Belle hibiscus for a wet area? I had one in a pot that died before I planted it. I had it in a shallow pan of water. I have the pink/red eye & white/red eye swamp hibiscus that get bigger each year. I need a few more flowering tall plants for my bog area for the butterflies and hummers. I'm also interested in your variegated shell ginger. Probably the best thing you could do is come over and raid my yard when you get a chance.

Sounds good! Maybe next month we'll plan a visit! Am rooting a bunch of stuff right now, including the new variegated Jewels of Opar. Im not sure how the Disco Belle would do in bog - mine is just in a regular bed. I can get plenty of Tabebuia yellow seeds from my neighbor when they're in season. Glad to here of your success.

I'm off to check Ebay...!

Liz I put a pot of the Dancing Girl Ginger aside for you. Don't buy any. Hey you think you can make the swap here on Saturday Oct 16? It would be just a day trip for you. 2 hours each way and you can bring the kids. It wll be at a very nice park right at the play ground.

I have Double apricot hibiscus cuttings.

Birmingham, AL(Zone 8a)

CaptMicha have you checked my trade list or would you like postage?

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Well these are only unrooted cuttings. Did you want to trade cuttings for cuttings?

I could root some if you're willing to wait.

Birmingham, AL(Zone 8a)

Cuttings sound good - check my journal and pick what you like!

BTW how do you root hibiscus?

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

I always cut the end at a slant, and make superficial slashes under nodes, and remove all the leaves except for the top ones. I dust on rooting hormone and stick in sterilized peat/perlite with a freezer bag ontop to provide humidity.

Are Thunbergia grandiflora cuttings okay?

glenmora, LA(Zone 8a)

i ahve some amaryllis bulds,i can send you 5 or 6 for some of your pineapple sage.let me know plz.ty

Birmingham, AL(Zone 8a)

you have mail lilcajun!

CaptM - the Thunbergia cuttings are doing fine - going to check in a minute if they're ready. Problem is the darn things never wilt, just sit there growing in the pots looking shiny and great, till you pull one up and find - no roots yet! Amazing.

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

It's okay if they're not rooted, cuttings would be great. Would you like some amaryllis seeds included with your cuttings? I think they might be red flowering but I'm not sure, the pack wasn't labeled.

Hey Liz! I'll take a guinea pig! That is the cutest pair!

Those are serious purebred champion guinea pigs YTRN! seriously! I used to breed and show - in the intensely competive high pressure show arena they are called "cavies" and sell for $40 each or more. Got out of it when pneumonia killed all my best breeding sows and left me with a caviary full of very unhappy and deprived boars. Now just pets.

Captmicha you have mail! :)
