Nice one, where did you get it? I am hoping you will say Lowes or some common place!
Thanks

Weeds, I found one at Lowe's and I think Roz got one there too.

Great! Thanks Cala, I have to have one of those beauties!

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I got it at Lowes. It was either 9.97 or 12.97. It has grown quite rapidly.

I like your Lowe's prices better than mine, lol. Roz said her's wasn't too expensive either.

We finally got a Lowes here also. The first year they were great, competing with HD which is right across the freeway from them. I guess HD won out because this year it really scaled back on the garden plants available.

Can you leave that out all winter in your zone Rylaff?

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I presently have about 40 bananas. Most, including this one, will probably die down for the winter. Last year almost all died down to the ground. I did have a few close to the house that just lost their leaves but the trunk remained. Just depends on the winter.

So tell me Rylaff, do you like bananas? LOL

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

This one has great color to it.

Kell, you must be psychic or something! How did you ever know that??????(grin)

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Does anyone have a start of this lovely Abyssinian banana. We have a Lowe's but they don't carry this banana. Will gladly pay postage or trade for something.

This one has not pupped for me. Does anyone know if it pups at all? All my others have multiple babies around them, even my chinese wax banana has 4 or 5 around it.

The abyssinian is different from all the other bananas. It will grow from 3 to 5 years then flower and die. After the main plant dies, sometimes a bunch of pups will come up from the roots. You have to carefully transplant them and baby them a bit, but then they will be okay.
