I am trying to get a bromeliad to flower by putting an apple with it and covering the plant with a plastic bag. Does anyone know how long I have to keep the apple with it?

Keep the apple in the bag for about a week to 10 days...
be sure you empty most of the water out of the center of the cup first otherwise it may rot or mold instead. ( Not to mention the smell...lol)
It will bloom in a few months or less after you remove it from the bag.
