Hi 'weeds' - I have grown this plant for 7-8 years, and I've never before seen a seed pod - it has a charm of its own!
If you try to germinate the seed, please post photos of the inside of the pod; I would be very interested in your results, too, in germination.
A very decorative pod!

Hi nancy,
I have had this old vine for about 10 yrs. I bought it as a confederate jasmine, ha. It is one nice plant and this is the first seed pod it has ever had that I know of. I will definitely watch that pod and let you know what is inside and if the seeds germinate, if there are several seeds, would you like a few?

Hi Connie - that's nice of you!
While I have the plant, I'd never turn down a seed - always wonder if it hybridized with something else in the same family, and the seedlings may be some new thing, don't you?
Confederate jasmine is *way* easier to spell than this one's name - maybe that explains it!
Is yours in the ground? In my zone 9a, it dies down each winter, but returns enthusiastically. I think it's a good one, too - sort of a 'sleeper'; blooms quite suddenly, always an excellent surprise.

Nancy,
Yes, it is definitely a sleeper~ and I love it. Mine does not die down in the winter and has started to really grow, getting LONG. I do hope the seeds will present a surprise plant and I would love for you to have some and see what you get so I will let you know when they are ready, how will I know? LOL

nancyanne, if you are watching this thread...I just happened to look at the pod today and wow, it was brown, happened suddenly and popping open. It had 20 seeds in it. I took a lot of pics I will post later. If you want a few let me know!

Connie, the seeds arrived today. Thanks you so much. Have you ever started this vine from seeds?

Is there anything you would like in return? otherwise I'll drop you the postage.

Thank you so much for taking the time to send them.

Interesting. Mine has never produced seeds. I wonder if will not self-pollinate or if the climate isn't right.

Great, I was afraid they were lost in space! I have never started them from seed and this is the first pod my OLD vine has ever had. Go figure Kelli! Who knows why now.
Linda, don't need anything right now but thanks for the offer and don't send postage, those are a gift.
