Problems with my EE!

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

Have you ever had a problem with aphids on your ee's? I have a horrible infestation and it's only on my elephant ears. It's hard to deal with because the ee's are so water resistant to anything I spray on them. Everyday I go out and squish as many as I can to keep it under control, but I need a way to get rid of them. Heelllppp! please :)

You may have to find a dust, seven came to mind first here also.

Hmmm, I have tomatoes and peppers and plumeria in immediate proximity, a brug, rubber tree, and bougainvillea in further proximity but still within 8 feet. Would that affect it?
I thought it was strange, but this is just my first year with ee's.

Is seven the expensive stuff? I am a college student....anything organic and cheap that would work?

W/ Cactus and Succulents the soaps can't be used because of the waxy coating.
We use a 50/50 alcohol/water mix.

I don't see why that won't work on EE's.

oh god forgot the soultion but you can put 1/3 soap, 1/3 water and 1/3 can't rember but I want to say bleach but I don't think that is right.... did you check your tomatoes or pepers to see if they were infected? seven you can buy the spray for 7.00 at lowes. or the powder Is about 5 for a bag that will last you forever..... and the dollar store has a spray that is 2.00 that seems to work not as good as a seven spray but it is mostlikely the same thing different bottle...

look to see what people spray on there brugs...some times soapy water can get rid of some bugs...

I've been attacking them with h202/palmolive/water spray and it just bounces right off the leaves and I can hear the aphids laughing at me....

I haven't seen any infestation on any other of my plants...I just got rid of spider mites on my brugs so I've been paying close attention. I got rid of them with the soap/h202/water mix.

I think I will try the seven powder and see how that works. Thanks yall, I'll keep you updated!

I've used sevin powder, 1 TBS. to a gallon of water and give it a squirt of dish soap. The soap helps the mixture stick to the plant leaves. I would think a good strong spray of water from the garden hose would take the aphids off the ears.
